Gucci kicked off Milan Fashion Week on Friday following Alessandro Michele’s abrupt departure some months before. And while I was certainly not a fan of his flamboyant, often overtly theatrical aesthetics, he was one of the last to at least have some. Like him or not, Michele had a vision and storytelling he masterfully explored season by season, collection by collection. The slouchy, androgynous styles the so-called “Gucci collective” presented last week could very well have been designed by a combination of Yohji Yamamoto, Hedi Slimane, and some few others in between, Or, as a TheStyleTitle Facebook group member noted: “it looks as if it has been designed by AI”
The next step was to offer this collection the proper review-also one made by AI. And if it reminds you of countless digital media reviews written by actual persons, well done.
