A new group exhibition focused on the deconstruction of the female body in today’s fashion photography is to take place from November the 1rst in London sponsored by luxury online retailer THE OUTNET.COM. The show, “Posturing: Photographing the Body in Fashion,” will showcase more than 43 works from fashion photographers including Johnny Dufort, Charlotte Wales, Lena C. Emery, Brianna Capozzi, Tyrone Lebon, Marton Perlaki and Charlie Engman, curated by Holly Hay and Shonagh Marshall, both founders of Ground Floor Project. The project’s general initiative is to commission artwork and host exhibitions as above that challenge the perception of human body, art and their relations to fashion imagery.
“I wanted to bring focus to the hierarchy between body, clothes, prop, site, beauty and the printed page — examining the important place of each. Beginning to look at how these images come together is really the crux of the exhibition,” Marshall said.
