Chanel Spring 2017 Couture- ” Feminine Powerdressing”.

Chanel : Runway - Paris Fashion Week - Haute Couture Spring Summer 2017

This Couture season Karl Lagerfeld decided he wanted to showcase the craftmanship of the ateliers along with  presenting a new silhouette-a curvy,power-radiating one with all the Chanelian embellishment present in the clothes themselves, including crystallized tank tops and marabou feathers.A great show staged in a circular mirrored stage that had an Art Deco look- with reflections perfect for artistic instagram images- a setting that echoed Chanel’s very own mirrored atelier at Rue Cabon.”I wanted something impeccable, clean. I wanted the girls to look like walking fashion drawings,” said Karl Lagerfeld, adding, “And I must say, I love feathers!” he said, according to Vogue.

Models walked the catwalk wearing the Chanel suit, pleated and belted in ‘macaron’ yet but vibrant colors. The almost 80s-inspired designs featured structured shoulders, fitted waists and a heavy, almost sculptural-very ‘first Lady’- structure. Then a series of  silver silhouettes adorned with feathers, sequins and glitter, belted slightly above the waist, combined with some amazing boots appeared-pure eye candy yet not something that Mr Lagerfeld hasnt done in the past.Still, the dresses were beautifully executed and styled, with the wedding dress proudly worn by Mrs Lily-Rose Depp being the highlight of show.A show that was exceptional in quality and execution even though not at the very least innovative or avant-garde.
