Staging  Chanel Pre-Fall 2017, Karl Lagerfeld took over the quintessential Parisian setting—the Ritz Paris— a Coco Chanel favorite- rightfully naming rhe show:’Paris Cosmopolite.’ With runway debuts from Lily-Rose Depp to Pharrell Williams and first time Chanel models like Sofia Richie and Selah Marley, the show marked a significant shift from models to socialites-as-muses such as Alice Dellal, Lottie Moss, Sofia Richie, Georgia May Jagger and Lagerfeld’s young godson Hudson.Likewise, the collection #ParisCosmopolite featured an inspiring mixed of Chanel basic lines such as tailored dresses paired with over the knee boots,power-shoulders,oversized flowers on puffa jackets and of course, peals. As Karl himself stated it during a fitting on Monday,“You have to walk as if you are walking into a chic restaurant, convinced that you are the most beautiful and chicest woman in the world — which you are” He also dubbed it “Paris Cosmopolite” to evoke a time when elegant women from the world over converged on the mythic Place Vendôme hotel, established in 1898- a period source for true style, indeed.“For me, it’s a certain idea of Paris: Gabrielle Chanel, the Ritz, the Hemingway Bar. This is the kind of Paris everyone would like to bring back,” the designer said.
