Chadd Curry-The Unbearable Lightness of Being a Style Icon


Chadd Curry is a style icon where style meets substance.A true modern day  Renaissance man, he is a successful  performing artist,with most performances BUTOH influenced and inspired, and executed through multi media and projections.At the same time he is  making music and creating  industry and techno sound spaces as well as designing and creating accessories and other garments he subsequently wears,formulating his unique presence as a sartorial influence. Here, we are trying to dive into his very world of inspiration.

-You experiment with your style and as a designer.What mostly influenced you to get involved with fashion/art?

The cinematic black and white shade less grey wonder filled world I created in my head as a child.

-How you will describe your personal aesthetics/vision?

Well,I was once described as Mr.-Peabody-slash-LeStat-Victorian-chic look, getting attention for his originality and passion for promoting difference. “ dash of Edward-Scissorhands-meets-Elizabethan makeup and costume which is basically New Wave meets New Romantic.

-Is there something you ‘like to do/work for and haven’t done it so far?

Go global be famous. Making my mark on the world changing the world one human at a time with love and acceptance.

-Are there any contemporary (or older) creative that influenced you?

I do my best with the greatest of intentions to be my very own source of influence and inspiration.

-Name a few people that have actually contributed in shaping your vision

Jean Genet, Gunter Brus, Klaus Nomi, Marlene Dietrich, William Burroughs, Nijinsky, Rick Owens, Michelé lamy, Jesus Christ, Virginia Woolf, McQueen .to name a few.
